I became a psychologist because I have always been interested in people: how they feel, why they do what they do. I believe that individuals are capable of learning, growing, and improving their lives, and I want to help them do that. So, if you're feeling down, stressed, overwhelmed...I am here to listen. I want to help you learn new skills that will enable you to feel and function better at home, work, and in your relationships. I am a licensed psychologist, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for individuals experiencing depression and anxiety.
CBT is a brief and problem-focused form of psychotherapy that helps clients understand the relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Research supports that CBT is an effective treatment for depression and anxiety, as well as many other mental health issues.
I have trained and worked at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, Southern Methodist University, Parkland Memorial Hospital, and UT Southwestern. I have years of clinical and research experience in CBT, including five years on a NIMH-sponsored study investigating the efficacy of CBT for depression. My apologies, but I am not accepting new clients.
