I typically work with anxious, hyper-vigilant, perfectionistic clients who get stuck in their thinking brains and have a hard time accessing their feelings. Clients who have difficulty slowing down and being with themselves. Clients who have tried and tried to fix their problems and still feel stuck, exhausted, and frustrated that things don't change. I love helping clients trust that they aren't a problem to be fixed, they are a person who needs acceptance, compassion, and love. Though I specialize in LGBTQ+ clients and folks that have experienced religious trauma, I welcome anyone who experiences a disconnect with themselves.
My goal as a therapist is to help you move away from getting stuck in your thinking mind and drop into your full self. The self that includes your body, your messy and uncomfortable feelings, the parts of you that are wounded, the parts of you that carry shame. I'll help you look at all of these parts with understanding and compassion.
It's from this place of acceptance that you can create lasting, meaningful change. This is true for our relationships with ourselves and with others. We can't change what we can't acknowledge.
