Life can seem a series of barriers and obstacles that present difficulties in allowing us to be our full and authentic self. How we think and what we believe, whether true or not, often drive our perceptions towards actions. Gaps can exist in our own self-image and what we tell ourselves. Sometimes the gap is based on past experiences and labels others may have placed on us. I believe that bridging these gaps in understanding can be transformative and freeing. However, the steps to seek assistance in exploring how we are affected by these deeply held beliefs can be a tough one.
It is my work as a mediator that lends to the process of getting to those core needs and beliefs of people - needs that may have been compromised by their experiences. Buried and unmet needs surface when dealing with issues of anxiety or depression in individuals and most surely in conflict resolutions amongst couples and families.
Addressing our mental health is just as important as the other levels of care we maintain for ourselves or provide for others. It is a passion of mine to share the importance of mental health.
