I earned my Master's degree from a holistically oriented clinical mental health counseling program at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts - one of the most comprehensive programs of its kind. Since earning my degree I have provided counseling across a variety of settings including non-profit and for-profit organizations, government agencies, hospitals, employee assistance and now in private practice. Locally here in the Rogue Valley I have worked for both Asante and Jackson County Mental Health. At the latter location I trained the RN staff in counseling skills and fellow counselors in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I draw from a broad array of counseling and systems approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (a form of CBT), Internal Family Systems, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Structural Family Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Expressive Therapy and mindfulness. These approaches are tailored to your specific needs and preferences.
My work is inevitably informed from a place of intimate experience and understanding. I grew up in a family that was significantly impacted by mental health struggles. I am a trauma and abuse survivor and I have been committed to ongoing engagement in my own internal work over many years. Please note that I only work Mondays and Tuesdays.
