My therapeutic approach focuses very much on the here-and-now. While events in your past certainly played some role in your present distress, the past can not be changed. I believe the primary goal of psychotherapy is to teach you the tools you need to change the current patterns that are causing you problems.
I also have special training and experience working with children and adolescents. While the techniques used with youths are obviously different from those used with adults, the goal remains the same: to provide the tools that will bring about positive change.
