As we live our lives, all of us face challenging curves in the road from time to time. Whether it be anxiety or depression, relational difficulties, troublesome patterns at work or school, or turbulence along a personal or spiritual path, we can all benefit from support navigating these consequential turns. Dissatisfaction or suffering on any scale can serve both as a signal and motivation towards greater understanding, integration, and alignment with ourselves, significant others, and our deepest values. Whether it’s anywhere from a modest course-correction to inner transformation you're seeking, let's explore the path together.
I use a flexible synthesis of psychodynamic, interpersonal, insight-oriented, and trauma-informed somatic perspectives. These are integrated with elements from neuroscience as well as practical elements from CBT and DBT to address nervous system and emotional regulation. If desired, meditative or body-based practices can be introduced into the mix.
My personal path to practicing psychotherapy has traversed academic internal medicine, a rich breadth of psychological training from depth psychology to somatic psychology to evidence-based approaches, teaching & facilitative work in small group and classroom settings, a creative life in ceramics and painting, and a Zen-Taoist path of meditation and inquiry.
