My ideal client is a person who is coming into therapy ready for change. This client would have issues including depression, anxiety, and substance use. This client would need their therapist to help them improve their self-worth, improve their ability to manage their mental health conditions and decrease their substance use. This client's goals would include developing healthy thinking patterns and beliefs about self and others, enhancing their ability to cope effectively with stressors and worries, and acquiring skills to establish a sustained recovery.
I work collaboratively with clients and can support them in working towards their desired goals. I utilize a strengths-based approach that empowers clients. I can support clients in addressing the cognitive distortions contributing to their mental health condition and redefining their core beliefs in an effort to change their perspective of the world.
