Our office believes that access to counseling should be easy and comfortable. I personally try my best to never turn away a client, schedule immediately, and work with any financial barriers. Although I work with a variety of treatment goals and treatment modalities, I am known for my work with children, trauma experienced populations, relationship counseling, addictions, military and advocacy for community health. When working with children, I always involve the parents and I attempt to assess in a variety of settings to assure I have the entire picture. Counseling should feel comfortable and safe.

I have enjoyed spending my life living, working, and mentoring in multicultural environments in the US, Europe, Africa, and Asia. My counseling experience expands by 40 years. I received my bachelor’s and master of Arts degrees from Dallas Baptist University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have completed 50 hours of Trauma training and 40 hours of Certified First Responder Counselor Training certificate programs. In my experience, the challenges in our relationships result from shame, fear, wounds, trauma, unrealistic expectations, or any combination of these.

Neuroscience confirms trauma resides in the body; we know the body's wisdom guides the release of trauma perfectly with adequate safety, effective "witnessing," & mindful inner attention. Distressing thoughts, beliefs & social inhibition are the primary barriers to the body's ability to release trauma & re-wire the neurological system in a transformational process that decades of "talk therapy" could never accomplish. These powerful, highly effective interventions assure the debilitating effects of trauma are no longer something people must "live with."

Pastoral Counselor 14 years experience helping troubled teens, individuals, and couples. While having a background in Christian and religious counseling, most of my clients rely little on this side of therapy. EMDR trained and having grown up & taught in Cen Texas, helping VETERANS and their families out is one of the most rewarding parts of my practice. Currently, I am accepting new clients in both Austin and Killeen. I specialize in mobile/phone counseling in Austin for my 3 treatment groups, no insurance currently. I have no wait list for EMDR clients, and I accept TriCare in Killeen office location.
