Hello, My name is Michelle Locke. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been actively practicing as a social worker since 1996 and as an LCSW since 2015. My skill set and professional experience lend themselves to supporting various individuals with Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD), and Spirituality. I enjoy keeping people in therapy through Christian Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Compassion Focused, Strength-Based, and Trauma Focused therapies. Addiction is an insidious disease, one that takes over a person's life like a toxic friend, leading one to believe relief will be at the next turn, only to find misery and heartache. It controls a person's thought-life, holds the soul hostage, destroys the ability to feel simple emotions, and obliterates families. It can be difficult to reach out due to the shame that has permeated one's beliefs about themselves, and finding someone who understands the depth of this pain and shame can be daunting. I love working with clients on boundary setting, stress, anxiety and depression, parenting, how to improve career/professional functioning, resolving conflict in a healthy way, and much more. My youngest child has complex medical needs, which has given me a real soft spot for adults who are learning to thrive through unchangeable circumstances, as I've been there! My communication style is humorous, confident, and engaged. I will follow your lead but will also offer input, including helpful analogies and explanations of mental health concepts. I welcome disagreement and believe you are the expert on your own life.

If you're anything like me, then you know that half the battle is reaching out to "[Fill In The Blank]" in order for you to start feeling better about whatever the situation might be. You might fill in the blank with the Dentist, a friend with whom you had a falling out, a family member you forgot to say happy birthday to, etc. I'm the same way in so many situations but once I've made that appointment, talked to the friend, made it to the gym, etc... I feel so much better! I hope that today's the day you say... "I'm reaching out to better my self... for me!"

My belief is that everyone has the right to be heard, and accepted. I have been a counselor/therapist for over 20 years. I counsel individuals 18 years and over, including men, women, and couples.
