I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of NC, and received my Masters of Social Work at UNC Chapel Hill. I have experience working at inpatient behavioral health settings, hospital systems, multidisciplinary collaborative care clinics, and in private practice. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR (trauma therapy), and utilize other therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational Interviewing, talk-therapy, and solution-focused care. I am proud to serve clients with a wide rage of ages (early adolescence through older adulthood), and from a wide range of backgrounds.
As an DBT therapist (also using other modalities such as EMDR and CBT), I help clients work through past trauma and learn to regulate their emotions in the present. My practice offers DBT Adherent groups that mirror Marsha Linehan's 24 week treatment model. We work through Emotion Regulation, Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness.
Now more than ever, taking care of our mental health is important given the recent pandemic and troubling world events. This is especially true for LGBTQ+ individuals and other marginalized groups, who may face additional mental health concerns and life stressors stemming from barriers to care, discrimination, harassment, lack of acceptance, and more.

Tuesday night Teen/Parent DBT Group: This 24 week DBT Adherent group covers Marsha Linehan's modules: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Emotion Regulation, as well as Walking the Middle Path, which was created for teens and their families. New group members can join at the beginning of a new module. Teens and parents meet in the same room to learn the skills together.
