At Greenwood Therapy I provide collaborative, strengths-based counseling for people dealing with depression, anxiety, and related disorders; trauma and grief; relationship problems; difficult transitions; and career questions. I work with individuals 18 years and older and with couples. My approach varies based on the client's needs, using insights from interpersonal and psychodynamic therapy, narrative and family systems therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based stress management. I have particular experience with issues facing clients in blended families and long-distance relationships; and I understand the challenges of changing direction in midlife, partly because counseling is my second career.
Before becoming a counselor, I spent 25+ years in scholarly publishing. As a production editor and copyeditor for academic presses, I have worked with countless college and university professors. My familiarity with the culture and vocabulary of academia makes me a good fit for many students, faculty, and staff.
