I specialize in working with emergency responders, crisis-oriented professionals like nurses and clinicians, and others who are used to being the ones who solve others' problems. Trauma, burnout, depression, PTSI, PTSD, and all of the impacts these things have on a person and on relationships - these are things that can be treated!
I am a licensed psychologist who primarily provides individual therapy, crisis support, consultation, and education to emergency responders and their respective departments. I am certified by the ICISF to teach and provide CISM and am passionate about building peer support teams. In therapy I utilize EMDR, CBT, and brief stabilization services, among others.
It takes tremendous strength and courage to reach out and seek help, especially if you work in a profession that has traditionally dealt with trauma, depression, and other forms of distress using the "suck it up and get on with it" method. There's no shame in seeking help. Needless suffering is the only real shame.
