Greetings! My name is Chris Bongardt and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I know that it takes courage to seek counseling, especially when it comes to challenges in your personal life and relationships. I provide a collaborative process with clients who are hoping to explore challenges and make positive changes in their lives. I offer a safe, empathetic and non-judgmental environment to explore feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. My therapeutic style is engaged and interactive and incorporates theory, experience, compassion, teaching, resourcing, intuition, strength-building, skill and humor. I seek motivated clients interested in making positive changes.
I have 18 years of Individual Counseling, 9 years of School Counseling and 12 years of Teen Girl Group Facilitation experience. I have 30+ years of experience in youth-centered work. My therapy style is Client-Centered with an emphasis on Self-Esteem, Communication, Motivation, Coping Skills and Goal Work.
I work with children and adolescents with both emotional and behavioral challenges, including anxiety, divorce, family issues, depression, self-esteem, relationships, grief, behavior, school challenges, social skills, emotion regulation, mood, and impulse control. I help parents discover their own expertise and develop an empathetic understanding of their children's behavior.
