First responders (Police, corrections, fire, EMS, dispatchers) respond to someone's worst day, be it in response to a criminal act, a medical emergency, natural disaster, or fire. They often do so multiple times per shift. Sometimes, internal organizational issues arise that can make their jobs even more difficult. When off duty, first responders still need to care for their families, their homes, and their finances. A career helping others can take its toll physically, emotionally, and mentally, and it can also deeply affect a first responder's quality of life off duty as well. I am a client-centered counselor who understands the life stressors that a first responder experiences both on and off the job. I will help you work through anxiety and depression, as well as the difficulties of experiencing traumatic incidents, whether work related or not.
