Hello - I'm Michele and I've been in practice for the last 16 years working with children and families first in teen crisis center, residential housing for severe and persistent mentally ill adults, as a school counselor in both elementary and middle school setting and then in community mental health. These experiences have given me understanding of anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and social pressures. I understand that many of these issues impair a person's functioning at home, school, and with their friends. I've been told that I'm both playful, insightful, and yet straightforward in my approach to therapy.

Over the last decade, Innovative Health Care Concepts (IHCC) has worked with a variety of clients from children suffering from trauma, to families learning to manage the complexities of living with mental illness.

My approach to therapy is non-judgemental, compassionate and empathetic. It is important for me to create a safe place for you to come and share what you are experiencing. My goal is to build a trusting relationship that you can feel comfortable to come back to whenever life becomes difficult. Life can throw several different challenges our way and it can be difficult to navigate those challenges. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in Idaho and Texas, with an associate level license in Utah. I work with individuals, couples, and families with the goal of helping you experience increased mental health and connection in your relationships. I have experience working with trauma, abuse, depression/anxiety, ADHD, personality disorders, addiction, spiritual/religious concerns, and relationship distress. I also have extensive experience working with families and couples. I take a relational approach with my clients and help them to address their concerns with their context in mind.

I have a very large tool bag to help you move through a variety of issues. I have the equivalent of a minor in elementary education, child psychology and developmental psychology. I changed majors to Social Work and feel my added skills of psychology and education give me a different edge than a lot of counselors in the field. Julie specializes in non-directive play therapy which is a unique treatment that allows children the freedom to express inner feelings, encourages positive change and enhances their inner strengths. Experience demonstrates children have the ability to work through complex issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, divorce and abuse when given the proper tools to do so. Julie provides a safe, validating, and mindful environment where children can display their concerns and challenging emotions using sand tray and play therapy.

Stefanie Westover, LCSW, is an attachment therapist who focuses on relationships as the key to finding meaning and joy in living. Stefanie has experience working with parents and their children in a variety of settings for over ten years, including training foster parents, working with children in a speech-language pathology research lab, at a child development center, and in play therapy.

My passion is helping families, adults, and children to gain insight and power over their lives as they learn how their minds work. I have a special interest in helping you to take steps to be compassionate to yourself, accept your worth, and find the motivation and skills to improve. My training is focused on helping people heal from the many experiences and issues of life including depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, attachment disorders, suicidal ideation, domestic violence, addiction, divorce, transitions, and grief and loss issues.
