We believe that for children to THRIVE, they don’t simply experience the absence of problems but the presence of well-being.
Like many of the families we work with, you may be feeling stuck. Perhaps you've read books, skimmed websites, and talked to friends and family in an effort to address your child's emotional or behavioral issues...yet he/she still seems to be struggling. Turning to someone else for help can feel like a big step. After all, as your child's parent, who knows him/her better than you? We agree. Thrive Child Psychology works in partnership with youth and families to get to the root of challenges, establish goals, and use research-based tools to achieve them.

I witnessed children and adults experience trauma and the impact it had on their lives.
Not a single one of our lives has escaped pain, hurt, rejection, loss, or other traumatic events. It’s a part of the world we live in; a part we cannot evade. Each generation, the trauma becomes more complex, as it builds on the previous generation’s unresolved trauma. It presents itself as depression, anxiety, fatigue, sleeplessness, trouble concentrating, self-destructive behaviors (including addiction), physical illness, overwhelming guilt or shame, and the inability to form healthy relationships. But it doesn’t have to continue. You can loosen the hold that it has on your life. You can end the cycle of generational trauma.

I am open to working with all ages and love working with children and adolescents! Please feel free to contact me to set up an appointment to start building our relationship.
Do you feel overwhelmed with bouts of depression or anxiety? I can help you. Together, we can unlock old patterns of thinking that may have left you feeling trapped or stuck through mindfulness based CBT which focuses on changing your relationship with negative emotions. Mindfulness allows one to become more cognitive of their immediate reaction to unsettling thoughts and emotions. In doing so, this allows one to employ skills to redefine that experience and promote self-love, compassion, and growth. I believe everyone is capable of finding joy, peace and fulfillment in their lives.

It is my greatest passion to help children make sense of the world around them, and to help them feel more safe, secure, and understood.
Rudolph Dreikers says, “ Children are keen observers, but poor interpreters”. Growing up and learning how to exist in a chaotic world can be extremely challenging in even the best circumstances. Those with trauma, neurodivergence, or any other challenges may have an especially tough time with this.

I specialize in grief, loss, & trauma for children & adults, and in utilizing creative techniques for all ages, such as play therapy, art, storytelling, & mythology.
Grief, loss, and trauma can have a profound and lasting impact on you or people you love. You may feel isolated from others and overwhelmed as you try to go about day-to-day tasks; you may struggle to feel safe, express your emotions, or understand how to make meaning from all that has happened. Other people might be telling you to “get over” it, as if grief has a deadline you haven’t met. Traumatic events from your past may bring up feelings of inadequacy, anxiety, or shame, which can prevent you from doing the things you want to do, affect your relationships, and make it hard to communicate or set healthy boundaries with others.
