That’s where I come in, as I have vast experience working with children and adolescents and help them work through the many issues they face as they grow and develop. I can help your child manage unhelpful behaviors, become aware of, and connected to their emotions, strengthen their coping skills, improve academic performance, and have a more positive outlook on life.

I am a licensed psychologist with extensive training and experience in the treatment of adults, children and families. As part of the South Florida DBT Consortium, I am a certified DBT- Linehan Board Clinician. Additionally, my group practice is a Linehan Board Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program and provides individual and group therapy to children, adolescents, adults and parents. My credentials include a doctoral degree from Rutgers University and two masters degrees in psychology from Columbia University. I also have extensive postdoctoral training and expertise in the treatment of children & families.

In my practice I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I work with children ranging in age from 2-adolescence. In my work with children I am able to to assess current social/emotional developmental functioning, along with play therapy intervention and parent coaching. I play a very supportinve and theraputice role wit the families of the children with whom I treat. I currently treat adults, as well, in both individual and couples therapy. I have experience working with a wide range of issues and personal struggles that people in our community are experiencing.

With over a decade of experience in mental health counseling, I provide individual and family therapy for an array of mental health disorders, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, OCD, family conflict and abuse, as well as eating disorders, peer conflict, and parenting issues. I bring an eclectic and thoughtful psychodynamic therapeutic approach to my practice, which includes a combination of orthodox and creative therapies. With the knowledge that no two clients are alike, I employ different therapies depending on each circumstance. I work with adults, children, and families.

The evolving challenges of raising children involve the addition of new technology and an ever-increasing pressure to succeed. Keeping on top of these dynamics can at best overwhelm and at worst alienate those in even the most healthy families. Teens pass through a stage of fluctuating hormonal levels, while negotiating burgeoning independence, and navigating the waters of social media along with peer pressure. Meanwhile parents are dealing with keeping a household afloat, managing the family and their careers, while often having aging parents and/or dealing with grief over their loss. When teens and parents need a little help or mental health challenges require more effort for daily living than they should, learning new coping skills with or without medication can make a difference. Discovering what influences behaviors and learning ways to express what needs to be said can empower parents and their children to find more happiness and fulfillment in life. Sorting through these challenges and developing coping techniques that help organize and balance communication is my goal with all families and individuals.

Too often, we become focused on what children are not doing right and on their pathology that we lose sight of the things they are good at and the things that make them precious and unique. Dr. Isabel Gonzalez is a bilingual (English-Spanish) pediatric neuropsychologist, licensed as a clinical psychologist, mental health counselor and marriage and family therapist. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology and Child Psychology from Albizu University in Miami, Florida. Dr. Gonzalez completed her internship and a two-year fellowship in Bilingual Pediatric Neuropsychology at Children’s Hospital Colorado, ranked as one of the top 10 children’s hospital in the U.S. Dr. Gonzalez’s clinical experience has been based on internationally recognized hospitals in the United States.

Megan Guerrier is a Marriage & Family Therapist who attained her Master's degree at Nova Southeastern University back in 2014 and has been doing therapy ever since. Experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and families offering a holistic approach to therapy. Megan has done therapy in Miami, Wyoming, Colorado, and now Homestead and has been studying psychology since her senior year in high school where she took AP psychology and fell in love with the field ever since.

As a mother of 3 young children, I have a special place in my heart for parents, guardians and caregivers. She continued her post-graduate education at International Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy and worked at Mount Sinai Hospital and CSEDNY of NY before going into full-time private practice. She provides psychotherapy in a variety of areas, including stress, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, adjustment, performance psychology, creative and work blocks, sexuality, and interpersonal issues.
