As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) I have worked in various settings such as home health/hospice/bereavement, health department, major universities, medical clinics and V.A. I chose the Social Work profession because while in the foster care system as an adolescent and teenager, a wonderful social worker empowered me to facilitate change and choose the direction of my life at the age of 13. In my practice, I acknowledge that you are the expert of your story so we build on your self-determination and strengths. I believe in holistic approach-focusing on whole person-mental, physical, spiritual, social-all interconnected.
Therapeutic approaches include Client Centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Guided Imagery, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, My clients are usually 18 years old and older. I specialize in trauma, grief and caregiver strain.
