Do you find yourself feeling stuck in certain feelings? We call emotions "feelings" because they are experienced physically first, and then words are put to what is felt. If talking yourself out of uncomfortable feelings isn't working, you may want to try body-based therapy. All of your emotions are needed to fully express yourself, just as a dancer needs a full range of motion, and an artist needs every color. I help clients to cope with uncomfortable and painful feelings in order to open up to feeling safe experiencing the full range of human emotions. I offer traditional talk therapy, body-based therapy, and Walk & Talk therapy.
What would change in your life if you could be with any feelings that arose, and trust that they will change soon, like the weather? I guide clients to fully experience whatever arises in session, to move with it, to express it both verbally and physically, and to learn ways of resolving stuck sensations.
I blend an awareness of body signals and sensations with traditional talk therapy. Through the use of simple movement practices, yoga, and mindfulness, I guide clients towards a deeper understanding of themselves. Once an experience is internally understood, it becomes easier to communicate with and connect to others.
