My passion is to help all parents create an environment where their kids, whether adopted or biological, with developmental trauma can thrive. I have many years of experience working with traumatized kids and providing support for the parents that love them. I look forward to developing a trusting relationship where we can work together to draw on your own skills, strengths, and abilities to overcome life’s challenges.
My counseling approach is holistic and tailored to the needs and strengths of the individual. I lean toward cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy, with an approach which is generally eclectic, taking into consideration neurobiological implications.
My goal is to first offer hope. Then guided by my client's goals we work together to discover their skills and build resilience that will empower them, increasing their current quality of life and enhancing their ability to meet future challenges and goals. This is done through a lens of compassion and empathy in an accepting and judgment free environment.
