I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, in the state of Georgia. I hold a bachelor's degree in psychology, and a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. I have worked with patients while in crises at local emergency departments across the metropolitan Atlanta area. With 9 years of clinical experience, I have also worked with couples, adolescents, and individuals from all walks of life. I have experience facilitating groups that have been court-mandated, such as domestic violence, and substance abuse. I like to use cognitive-behavioral theoretical approach (CBT), and a person-centered approach (PCT).
I believe in allowing clients to take more of a lead in sessions, while exhibiting unconditional positive regard, showing empathy. This approach is important to me in that it allows me to create a safe space, while offering a non-judgmental environment during session.
Being able to encourage the client without interfering during their self-discovery process is also a model that I hold. My clinical specialties include anxiety, depression, anger management, couple therapy, group therapy, substance abuse, psychosis, dual diagnosis, and other disorders to name a few.
