Every person has times of struggle--especially the person who doesn't conform to society's expectations. Here is what I believe: a living relationship with the right therapist can lead to increased understanding (and emotional freedom) in your life. I've seen this process in action; it takes effort. But it's incredibly fruitful, resulting in more flexible ways of thinking and feeling about your past history and current challenges.
My training is psychodynamic with a personalized, approach. I see adults, couples, and older youth (age 12+), including LGBTQI individuals. I've helped individuals develop strategies to cope with depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, and work or career issues--especially for the creative individual seeking breakthrough.
No matter the age, I work collaboratively with you. The point of therapy is becoming curious together, examining your feelings and decisions. With older youth, I safeguard privacy while providing input to the parent; and with couples, we work to undo communication blocks, finding new ways of talking and listening.
