Hello there! I'm Catherine, a Mental Health Therapist at The Community Clinic. I enjoy working with diverse communities, and specialize in helping those seeking to heal from anxiety, relationship issues, low self-esteem, poor body image and disordered eating. I help my clients understand that therapy is a personal process, and emphasize the importance of honoring your own pace and boundaries. Pushing yourself too hard or rushing the healing process may be counterproductive. My work involves providing guidance and support, so you can learn to give yourself permission to take breaks, reinforce boundaries, and prioritize self-care.
I help provide a safe space to explore and process painful experiences. As well, guiding my clients towards healing strategies that strengthen their distress tolerance and resiliency by learning to practice self-compassion, build upon healthy relationships, explore mindfulness and relaxation techniques and learning more about the effects of trauma.
Using a person centered approach enables me to combine compassion and gentleness with solution-focused strategies.
