I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Marriage Counselor for 30 years. I create a caring and trusting environment in which we can work together. I am an active participant in your problem-solving. I use Cognitive Behavioral therapy to help you change. I also believe strongly in Positive Psychology meaning that we recognize and enhance your strengths . I work with people who are anxious and depressed, relationship issues, and people who are experiencing loss of all kinds ( ie: death, divorce etc.). It takes courage to look at oneself, but it is worth the search.
No matter what the problem area it is important to me to get to know you the client. I take a very good history of your life in order to understand your strengths and limitations. I am here to actually help you solve your life issues, and not just be a passive listener.
I believe the therapist's life experience is very important in helping others. I am married with two grown sons. I was in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan for two years. . I have always wanted to help others and I feel fortunate that my work allows me to do so.
