My primary goal in entering the field of mental health over 21 years ago was to assist others in enduring and ultimately healing from the emotional injuries that are often a natural part of living in a complicated world. As I have grown professionally and personally, this basic goal has turned into a firm commitment to provide a safe, nurturing environment for persons of all ages, genders, and ethnicities to speak freely and feel understood. Exploring destructive behavioral patterns, unsatisfying relationships, worrisome thoughts, and other problematic aspects of life can be a rewarding and productive experience.
I provide thorough psychological assessments (evaluations) that are tailored to the needs of the individual client. With respect to psychotherapy, I find that treatment focusing on early experiences is often the best way to address deep-seated issues. However, I am able to utilize techniques that focus on changing inaccurate thoughts and behaviors more quickly. Younger clients often benefit from my extensive training in play therapy.
