Most of my clients come to me because they’re struggling with their sex life and they’re pretty sure it’s all their fault. They’re not having the kind of sex that they want or sex has just become an enormous problem in their relationship. I often find that at the root of these issues surrounding sexuality is shame. Sometimes that shame is connected to: poor self-esteem or body image, believing you don’t deserve sexual pleasure, a belief that whatever you’re into is just too "weird" and you want to feel “normal” but can’t shake this particular desire, or societal & cultural expectations of gender roles.
Sex is wonderful… and confusing… and hard to talk about. I work with my clients either individually or as couples and my goal is help you uncover exactly what is keeping you from the sex life you want and how to communicate your feelings, fears, and desires in order to get it.
I received my Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from The University of Missouri - Kansas City. I’m also passionate about working with the LGBT community and doing couples work. I have special training in Perinatal Mood Disorders from Postpartum Support International, and am a Certified Sex Therapist through AASECT.
