I specialize in individual and couples counseling with veterans, first responders and individuals with problematic sexual behaviors/addictions. For individuals struggling with problematic sexual behaviors and addictions, I help them identify the root needs that are met through sex, porn, masturbation, infidelity or other undesired sexual behaviors as well as build skills. I work with Maine Department of Corrections to provide sex offense specific counseling to meet needs of probation or deferred dispositions. I also provide Psychosexual Risk Assessments for juveniles and adults who are required by court or probation to have one.
For veterans and first responders, I work with them individually or in couples counseling to address relational issues, coping skills, addiction issues and build other skills necessary for a healthy life. I use EMDR to help process trauma and other evidence based modalities to help them rewire their nervous system to turn off the constant hypervigilance.
I am certified in Yoga For First Responders and use this individually to build skills necessary to defuse the physical affects of trauma and their jobs. I also offer Yoga For First Responders to police and fire departments as a one time mental health training or for a sequence of classes.
