Anxiety, depression, and any other “negative” emotions people experience are natural reactions to challenging life experiences. I am a client-centered, affirmative therapist who creates an empathetic, brave space to explore emotions, life experiences, and take steps towards living an authentic life that aligns with your values. I focus on healing the mind + body as one, incorporating techniques into therapy to strengthen the mind-body connection and decrease symptoms of anxiety and depression.
I have specialized training in affirmative therapy with the LGBTQ+ community, crisis intervention, and working with individuals who have experienced sexual violence or relationship violence. I provide counseling from an anti-oppressive lens. I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
My favorite quote is by Audre Lorde, Black feminist author, who stated, “There is no thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives.” I believe Lorde’s wisdom is a powerful reminder how important it is to incorporate intersectionality and advocacy into serving clients.
