Groups
Social Emotional Learning Group
Our Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Group is designed to teach kids and teens social-emotional skills while maximizing social interaction opportunities. It strikes a balance, with half of the time devoted to structured learning activities and the other half reserved for social time. We’ll cover SEL topics and skills including emotional awareness and expression, managing big feelings, understanding the brain, healthy communication, self-talk, self-regulation, empathy, resilience, self-esteem, growth mindset, self-care, and more.

Study Skills Group
Our Study Skills Group is designed to teach study skills while providing preteens and teens with opportunities to socialize and connect with others. Each session begins with a group mini-lesson or skill-building activity, then members take turns meeting individually with an executive function coach for support and guidance. While the coach is meeting with individuals, the remaining members are encouraged to socialize, play games, and work on creative projects together. Group members will learn and practice strategies for staying organized, using a planner, taking notes, studying, managing time, tackling big projects, maintaining motivation, and more.

Social Skills Group
Our Social Skills Group is designed to teach kids and teens social, communication, and friendship skills while providing opportunities to practice newly-learned skills and engage with peers. Through guided instruction, hands-on activities, and play, participants will learn and practice important social skills such as finding common interests, joining conversations, keeping conversations balanced, building and maintaining friendships, using humor appropriately, resolving conflict, and handling teasing. In addition to my own curriculum, I utilize resources from Social Thinking, PEERS, and other evidence-based approaches.
