Hello, my name is Casey Mintz! As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my passion is to help people strive to improve their mental health through collaborative goal-setting, relationship building, and practical techniques. I Believe that every individual is unique based on their upbringing and life circumstances. Therefore, I do not necessarily believe in a one size fits all approach. In general, I utilize a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy approaches, psychodynamic approaches, and solution-focused approaches. I will typically tailor the approach to what the individual wants to improve on.
I have worked with a variety of different clients. Currently, I work for a crisis response team, so I am very efficient at dealing with crisis situations of all kinds. I have worked with adolescent youth conducting cognitive, structural, and psychodynamic approaches. I also strongly believe in a humanistic approach.
During a first session, I will review limits of confidentiality, informed consent, and my background. I will go over expectations or boundaries. I will explain my general approach to therapy. I will elicit information from the client to determine what they would like to work on in therapy, as well as any expectations they may have.
