In our work together, my intention is to hold a space in which you can begin to relate to yourself with a sense of curiosity and gentleness. This includes growing the capacity to be with your internal experience, as it is, without the need to numb or distract in ways that are destructive or self-harming. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is integral to the healing that takes place in therapy. When we feel safe enough to trust and open up, then we can begin the work we need to do on ourselves.
My training is in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University, an approach which includes awareness of present moment experience, attention to the body and its wisdom, and a framework of spaciousness. As a therapist, it is important to me to work in collaboration with you, knowing that you hold your own unique and innate wisdom about what is needed.
My areas of focus include struggles with food and body image, LGBTQAI+ identities, anxiety, depression, interpersonal struggles, existential dilemmas and more. I also offer Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. I see presenting issues as symptoms of a deeper pain, and that is what we will work to contact and bring healing to in our time together.
