At any age, there are developmental, transitional and often unexpected circumstances that challenge us in life.
Be it aspects of parenting, the social or emotional challenges of being a child or teenager, or concerns about life transitions as an adult, my approach is safe and comfortable. I work from a place of patience, sincerity, humor and nonjudgement. I want the counseling experience for my clients to feel helpful, worthwhile and to be a journey to better understanding and personal growth.
Children have an amazing capacity for emotional growth and healing. My work with them follows a play therapy framework, allowing them to "work", in a natural way. Play is the work that children do! With adolescents, listening, validating, normalizing and assisting with challenges while coming up with coping strategies is the core of my work.
Divorce has become a new phenomenon in our culture. This life transition affects all family members in different ways. Anxiety and stress are also very prevalent for kids/teens in our society. Establishing goals and working together for your child's personal or familial adjustment, growth and satisfaction describes the therapeutic journey.
