The heart of my practice centers around helping you increase self-acceptance, access inner strength, enhance emotion regulation skills, alter unhelpful behavior patterns, clarify what matters most in your life and act toward that end. Even if the events in your life don't change, your perspective on them and reaction to them can. Common areas of focus include relationship issues, depression, anxiety, career/life transitions, child/adolescent issues, divorce, parenting, assertiveness training/setting boundaries, intimacy/changing unhealthy relationship patterns.
Research indicates that the most reliable predictor of success in therapy is a positive therapist-client relationship which can only occur when there is a strong feeling of connection. It's important to find someone you trust, who puts you at ease, makes you feel cared for and accepted and has the skill to help target what may be obstructing your progress.
My approach is warm, relational, interactive, non-judgmental and informed by your needs, challenges and strengths. I work primarily with children and teens who are struggling with anxiety, depression, parental divorce, and social and academic pressures.
