I enjoy working with people battling any kind of "stuckness" including trauma issues, addictions, and issues faced by adolescents. I primarily work with individuals, but also work with a family when needed. I am often described as energetic, with a great sense of humor. If you need someone to help motivate and encourage you to make changes, then I am the therapist for you.
As I have evolved in this field, I have become more focused on trauma of all kinds. I am Certified in EMDR therapy and find that approach works well with trauma as well as mood disorders, anxiety, and experiences of abuse. I use skills in grounding and mindfulness as a starting-off point to begin the work of reprocessing old memories and stuck thoughts.
I am highly motivated, and very caring about others. Most commonly, my clients describe me as very direct, upfront and honest, often cutting to the chase when needed. Additionally, I'm located in a comfortable atmosphere which allows many people to break through their hesitation and anxiety about opening up.
