I am an Ackerman trained family therapist and graduate of NYU, practicing individual, family, couple, and support group psychotherapy. I specialize in relationships, intimacy, illness, trauma, and loss. My therapeutic work w/clients focuses on exploring how family, religion, and cultures of origin influence how one learns to adapt in the world, both independently and when exploring new areas of intimacy and connection. I believe in the importance of my own self-awareness, acknowledging that the work in understanding one’s relationship to privilege regarding ethnicity, color, and other intersectional identities are a lifelong study.
My background as a dancer and yoga teacher bring a unique understanding of bodily awareness in the therapy room, as it relates to emotional processing and adapting to the various losses one can experience through illness in their physical body.
In addition to offering therapy services, I have many years of experience supervising clinicians in their therapeutic practices, palliative care fellows and psychiatry residents in academic medical settings, MSW students in their graduate studies, and I offer private individual or group consultation to those needing supervision in the therapy community.
