I believe that symptoms are like guideposts, signaling opportunities for growth. Expressed as anxiety, depression or even chronic pain, these unwelcome experiences actually show us where to begin the work of bringing life back into balance. My clients are typically outwardly successful people who seem to be traversing their busy lives with ease, while secretly they struggle with issues like chronic pain, anxiety, depression and disconnection from self and others. I work within a mind-body framework to uncover and heal the root causes of a client's symptoms so that they can experience lasting relief.
Whether working with trauma, anxiety or chronic pain, my therapeutic model of choice is IFS (Internal Family Systems) because it creates change quickly, but gently and the positive effects of treatment persist over time. I am also trained in EMDR and PRT and use these modalities alongside IFS, where indicated.
