My name is Carol Guardado, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 8 years' experience working with individuals to assist them in achieving health and wellness. My approach is person-centered; I focus primarily on individual strengths and resiliency to assist in overcoming life challenges. I am well versed in different theoretical approaches but primarily focus on utilizing the following Evidence-based practices in my individual work on a case-by-case basis: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Managing and Adapting Practice (MAP), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
My approach and work have primarily focus on assisting adults with anxiety/stress, depression, grief and loss, and Post-traumatic stress disorder. I have experience working with postpartum depression and assisting mothers to navigate the challenging journey of motherhood.
Throughout my work with patients, a tone of empathy, respect, and transparency is set in order to build a strong foundation for positive rapport to develop. Through the development of this therapeutic alliance patients will guide sessions and gain a sense of empowerment.
