I use a person-centered approach in counseling to build a foundation of trust and openness. When anxiety, depression, stress, relationships and life responsibilities feel overwhelming you may sometimes feel like you have lost yourself. Taking the step to engage in therapy can help you process thoughts and emotions in a nonjudgmental and affirming environment so that you begin to gain a sense of life balance. With a combination of counseling approaches, I'll help you talk about and explore important issues in your life through a compassionate and affirming lens so that you can begin to feel more like yourself again.
With a combination of approaches I can help you identify the present barriers and find your path to empowerment and change. Some of the modalities I use are: CBT, EMDR, Attachment Based Relationship Theory, Mindful Self Compassion, Solution Focused and Motivational Interviewing. I am knowledgeable in the areas of substance use and co-occuring disorders.
