Diagnosed with learning disabilities, ADHD, or autism They often are not performing up to potential in a school or work setting and may or may not be having behavioral problems at school/ home. They are having problems communicating with parents and teachers regarding wants and needs or difficult communications with partners or their children. Poor choices have led to their problems with authority, trouble with law, etc.
Doctorate is in Special Education/Professional Psychology. Dissertation focused on Suicide Prevention in Adolescents. Specialties with children and adolescents and disabled adults are in learning disabilities, emotional-behavioral disorders, ADHD, and developmental disabilities including autism and educational and psychological testing. Parenting is a major focus. Practicums and internships in public schools, institutions and psychiatric hospitals.
I work closely with parents & the children to assist them. Much mediation and negotiation takes place between parents and their children which is facilitated by Dr. Carol Ann Watson, licensed clinical psychologist. Communication between adolescents and their parents is a major focus so that the child can reach their potential.
