It is often difficult to identify why we are unhappy. It can feel like something has disconnected us from the sense of spontaneous creativity and joy which defines a good life. Instead of freedom and self-determination, we feel trapped and pressured by society's demands, unsatisfying relationships, or feelings that we don't know how to address. I would work with you in therapy to reconnect with your own place of authenticity, power, and creative engagement. To accomplish this, I utilize a collaborative approach including talk therapy, dreamwork, clinical hypnosis, and experiential/body-based methodologies.
My approach to psychotherapy is existential and humanistic. Freedom, authenticity, and creativity come through expanding your awareness of yourself, your life, and your history. Integration of these elements strengthens your whole personality, expanding your capacity to experience deep emotion, as well as a sense of freedom and personal meaning.
I value diversity and enjoy working with individuals from all cultural backgrounds and sexual/gender identities.
