My work experience has varied from children, adolescents, and adults as well as a wide range of service areas, including mental health, substance abuse, trauma, generational trauma. Through these experiences I was able to gain professional and personal experience in the barriers that folx experience while getting access to and staying connected with health care and healing.
Many Black and Brown folx have trouble finding a therapist that looks like them and attempts to understand them, while working with them on their individualized journey to heal. Offering therapy services through this intersectional lens and coming from a place of inclusivity, and not erasure, is important and personal to me.
My work is heavily rooted in establishing a better understanding of thoughts and behavioral patterns that may have been rooted in previous trauma. I believe that a trauma-informed perspective can be used to explore patterns of thinking, behaviors, and life events that are impacting your growth and help in changing directions.
