Whether the difficulties involve a major loss or transition, or conflicts with spouses, partners, children or work, everyone occasionally needs help to sort through our experiences and ensure we progress down a healthy path. I believe that all of us are individuals with our own distinct, and sometimes complex, circumstances. I pride myself in creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space that allows clients to freely, and confidentially explore their struggles.
I have 12+ years of clinical experience and have worked in university counseling centers, community mental health centers, and private practice settings with individuals, couples, and families. My work is grounded in a Client-Centered, Strength-Based model of counseling, using a holistic set of techniques to fit each individual.
Through our work together, we strive to raise self-awareness, understand feelings, recognize patterns, improve coping skills, and nurture personal strengths to promote growth. I have extensive experience treating anxiety, mood, and personality disorders, grief/loss, and women's issues. I additionally specialize in working with the LBGTQ community and individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
