Individuals often decide to begin counseling when problems arise in their life; I believe that counseling can be effective at any point in a person’s life. Counseling is an opportunity to focus on your emotional and mental health while also discovering your authentic self. I bring a wide variety of experiences which have greatly influenced my style and approach, including holding a NYS School Counseling Certification and working as a mental health counselor on a college campus. I often utilize a holistic, client-centered, strengths-based approach and view the process of therapy as a collaboration between client and therapist.
My areas of focus include working with the college age population, adjustments and life transitions, disabilities, chronic medical conditions, and anxiety and/or depression. I am an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and have experience helping individuals explore their gender identities.
I encourage open communication by completing regular check-ins to assess progress while identifying strengths and areas of growth. My hope is through this experience you will walk away with tools to better manage the stressors in your life, have a greater sense of self-awareness, and feel empowered.
