Whether it's daily life stressors, trauma, relationship difficulties, suicidal ideation, or the burdens of living in a capitalist world, I am here to connect and help. People with gender/ sexual/ relationship minority identities can feel comfortable reaching out to me. Much of my professional experience is in the field of domestic and sexual violence, working both with people who have experienced these things as well as those who have used this type of harmful behavior in relationships. My interest as a professional is to help my clients take responsibility for their own healing as well as their own misdirected/ harmful behaviors.
In my approach to therapy, I value emotionally focused and experiential activities, as well as using elements from DBT, CBT, Gestalt, and Jung to help clients in their daily lives. I am also an EMDRIA certified EMDR therapist. I also highly value mindfulness as a way to navigate our feelings and experiences- including physical pain.
All of us will experience hardship in its various forms throughout life. Sometimes our distress is at a level we can manage with our existing supports and coping skills.
