I primarily use Mindfulness and Brainspotting as a modality for healing, though I am trained in EMDR, family systems, TF-CBT, DBT, and CBT.
My approach to therapy focuses on building the therapeutic relationship and supporting each client with an individualized treatment plan to support their needs. I am a trauma-focused therapist and believe presenting problems that bring people to therapy are rooted in earlier experiences. Brainspotting is a gentle yet effective neurobiological approach to treat symptoms of anxiety, depression, panic disorder, PTSD, attachment wounds, etc.

EMDR is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences.
Relationships have the power to both hurt and heal us. I enjoy working with couples and individuals who struggle with unresolved traumas, relationship issues, mood disorders, and life transitions. I offer a creative, grounded approach to counseling that is evidenced-based and trauma informed. I use EMDR, Expressive Arts, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and other attachment-based approaches to help people move toward healing and reduce suffering.

Hi! Thank you for reading my bio. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist that is certified in treating trauma and ADHD using different modalities including EMDR. I also provide treatment for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), anxiety, anger, depression, and marital/premarital counseling. It is through life experiences that we can gain wisdom. The key is managing the negative experiences in a healthy way, while maintaining peace and faith throughout life’s difficult situations. My approach begins at the root cause of the symptom- working backwards which leads to healing through self-compassion.

What happens when you are traumatized and how can EMDR help? Most of the time your body routinely manages new information and experiences without you being aware of it.
Have you lived through a traumatic experience that you are unable to move past? Are adverse childhood experiences still affecting your present day perceptions? Have you been questioning whether or not you will ever be able to move past the past? These are some of the very issues that I can help you identify and process during our work together. I have spent over 3000 hours helping children, adolescents, and adults move past their childhood and adult traumas. My goal is to help each unique individual move past their past so they may focus on the present and begin to live the very best life.

I am certified in EMDR (through emdria.
We as people are are all broken on some level, but we don't need to stay that way. Depending upon the cards we've been dealt in life (what's been done to us, and what we've done to ourselves) fractures in our world view, relationships, and self concept arise. I work best with a client who comes willingly to counseling, is motivated for change, and is open minded to new perspectives of responding to their problems. Many clients comment on the speed with which we are able to resolve their individual concerns.

I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, an Approved Consultant in EMDR Therapy, and an EMDR Facilitator for EMDR Professional Training.
I am a certified EMDR Therapist and Approved Consultant in EMDR Therapy. I help adults get through difficult life transitions and recover from traumatic experiences. Trauma can trigger overwhelming stress, anxiety, grief, fear, confusion, depression, anger, nightmares, and other sleep problems. Intrusive thoughts of traumatic experiences (including flashbacks) can greatly interfere with a person's ability to function in relationships, at home, and at work. I help people get over these lingering effects of trauma to resume or renew a sense of their own life's purpose and direction.

We will have the opportunity to use neurobiological tools, such as EMDR, to heal your nervous system.
I create a therapeutic space for adults who are overcoming challenging pasts to build fulfilling lives. Maybe you were raised in an invalidating environment, had stifled self-expression and creativity, felt pressured to conform to societal expectations, or had limited opportunities. These conditions can lead to intense anxiety, sadness, and loneliness. It’s also normal to struggle with low self-esteem and feeling out of place in the world. And perhaps these ghosts from the past hold you back from leading your best life today, whether that’s choosing a childfree lifestyle or coming out as LGBTQ+.

I have specialized training in Expressive Art Therapy and a trauma-focused therapy called EMDR.
Hello and welcome. Beginning therapy can be a big step. Often people seek therapy when their experience of suffering has reached a point of being intolerable, while others might just need some guidance or seek a witness on their journey of personal growth. I'm glad you are reaching out for the support you need. Therapy allows us to explore ourselves more deeply, understand patterns that keep us stuck, heal old wounds, access our authentic self-expression and develop much needed skills and tools to navigate this crazy thing called life.

I am influenced by & trained in Jungian Psychology, Feminist Psychology, Ecopsychology & trauma-informed/somatic approaches; certified in: Reiki, Psychedelic-assisted therapy & EMDR.
I believe we all possess what we need for wholeness, yet through a lot of self-help in the zeitgeist right now we’re asked to move the ground of our own being and follow formulas instead of trust the process & our intuition. Through our therapeutic relationship you bring your healing aptitude forward, and we establish a safe space where wounds, old stories, traumas, and any ways life has tamed you can be tended. The process of rewilding your soul and spirit and stepping into a new state of consciousness can be challenging and present with some pain and discomfort. I meet you lovingly, with an empowering & heart-centered approach.

How do you speak to yourself? This makes us feel the way we do. (We treat others the way we treat ourself.) Learn how to use and align your words, thoughts even, with your own positive intentions. Get rid of whatever is in the way. The brain can't tell the difference between an imagined experience and a real one. You don't have to reinvent the wheel to feel difficult feelings to completion. Mistakes are opportunities for getting what you want. With gentle patience and respect, I can show you how to allow feelings to be fully felt. Change beliefs and align with what you really want. It's a lot simpler than it sounds.

Avoid the commute and try Online therapy! I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). A very effective and helpful therapy that cuts talk time in half, and focuses on releasing present and past emotional distress. I also use the latest mindfulness techniques, among others, to provide you with a personalizad and comprehensive treatment. It is not uncommon for someone to find themselves in a state of emotional reaction, due to negative childhood experiences, life challenges, trauma or constant relationship problems. This is not only an emotional response, but a physical and spiritual one as well.

Hello, my name is Eric Rennacker, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and for the last 10 years, I have been working with people in recovery from addiction. Trauma is the gateway to substance abuse and I am EMDR certified. I am also in recovery myself having 37 years of sobriety, I know how hard recovery is. I meet people where they are in their lives using a humanistic approach of unconditional acceptance as I believe the therapeutic relationship that can be created between client and therapist is the foundation for what can be difficult work.

I utilize a variety of modalities, including Buddhist teachings and practices, IFS/Parts Work, Breath/Somatic, Mindfulness, Diamond Approach and EMDR to experience authentic healing.
Emotions can be challenging! You don't need to ride a roller coaster or have emotions run your life. You really don't. Together, we can identify the causes of whatever anxiety, depression, stress, relationship or sexual issues you're facing, and work to resolve them. What our work together could look like is that we identify what Internal Family Systems and IFS Therapy refer to as the parts of your personality. Believe it or not, even when they lead to experiences that may seem negative – self-sabotaging behaviors, fear, procrastination, relationship issues – each part or aspect of you is actually trying to help get a need met.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
