We all carry unique burdens of the mind, pains of our history, and cultural programming. It is true that we all experience suffering in one form or another as a natural part of life. It is also true that this suffering can be transformed and transcended. Through this transformation it is possible to experience a more connected relationship with the world within and around us. I am open to serve those experiencing PTSD, depression, anxiety, addiction, chronic pain, and spiritual confusion. I am also open to serving those interested in cultivating meditation and other spiritual practices, and generally enhancing quality of life.

It is not easy to ask for help.  I believe that in order to heal and move forward in our lives, we need to be able to dig deep and figure out what is holding us back.  While this can be challenging and at times uncomfortable, it is not something you need to do alone.

Wounds can be healed and transformed. Your capacity to heal and move forward may seem uncertain right now, but you’ve made it this far, and you’re not giving up. Healing is not a mystery – in fact, it happens naturally. Hidden in the brokenness lies a unique gift for you. Like imperfect threads woven together, your struggles become an integral part of your extraordinary journey. My desire is to help you embrace the richness of the unique fabric that is your life.

In addition, as one who has a keen understanding of what it means to feel deeply, I provide strength-based support for those whose sensory uniqueness (Highly Sensitive Person - HSP) is often misunderstood, confusing and overwhelming.
Hi there! I am a warm, supportive, non-judgmental therapist that helps people with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, substance dependence, and relationshIp issues. I believe that therapy is a partnership, and it's through this connection that we are better able to understand our difficulties. Starting from my career in entertainment, I've worked with a diverse group of people. I have extensive experience working with creative, intelligent, caring, sensitive people. By working closely together, my clients build positive self-images, develop healthy relationships, and ultimately lead more harmonious, fulfilling lives.

My approach is strength-based.
We can all use some support at some point in our lives. Whether we are going through a life transition, experiencing the loss of something meaningful to us, or simply feeling stagnant in life, just to name a few. Sometimes, the hardest part is recognizing we need support or realizing that it is okay not to do it alone. If you are reading this, you are likely contemplating getting that support or may be ready to start that journey! Either way, it is the first step. That is great! My goal as a therapist is to assist the person, I am working with to navigate emotions or behaviors that they may want to better understand or change.

I'm a second generation Asian American with deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by adult children of immigrant parents. Growing up in a multicultural environment often involves navigating cultural/familial expectations with personal identity and aspirations. I also understand the complexities of motherhood. You don't need to go through these challenges alone. Whether you are struggling with cultural identity, being a mom, having "mom guilt," or life transitions - I'm here for you. I believe building a strong therapeutic relationship full of honesty, empathy, and some laughs in a judgment free zone is what you need.

Strength-Based Therapists

How does strength-based therapy work?

During strength-based therapy sessions, the therapist will ask about an individual’s experiences of stress, pain, or trauma with the goal of orienting the client to view themselves as a survivor rather than a victim, and focusing on their strengths rather than on their weaknesses. In framing a client’s personal narrative along these lines, the therapist and client work together to identify existing skills that can be harnessed.

Is strength-based therapy evidence-based?

Strength-based therapy is an evidence-based treatment that has been studied extensively and shown to be effective across domains. The treatment has been found to be particularly effective in helping individuals who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health concerns. Strength-based therapy has been used by therapists to help clients for more than 60 years.

How long does strength-based therapy last?

There’s no precise timeline for strength-based therapy. The duration of treatment depends on the individual’s specific needs and goals and the severity of their concerns. Some individuals may find they achieve their therapeutic goals quickly, while others might benefit from ongoing support and guidance in order to continue progressing.

How effective is strength-based therapy?

Clinical research and decades of practice have shown strength-based therapy to be an effective treatment to improve mental health and well-being for many conditions. The treatment can engender a sense of connection and collaboration between the therapist and the individual, fostering a positive therapeutic relationship. For individuals with narcissistic tendencies, strength-based therapy may be less effective, as the focus on the individual’s strengths may undermine the work needed to honestly assess the challenges the individual faces.
