With over 28 years of experience as a clinician, my areas of expertise include individual and couples counseling focusing on issues of personal growth and development, relationship issues, stage-of- life transitions, stress reduction, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, LGBT issues, and Jungian Analysis and dream interpretation.
Need support as you make changes in your life and move towards your true goals? I help individuals and couples develop effective solutions for resolving lingering problems and overcoming challenges that keep you from moving forward towards the goals that you value and desire. Deep down, we generally know what it is we need. I pay close attention, and reflect your own inner wisdom back to you in a way that is practical and often liberating. The way becomes more clear as you decide to simply, and more truly, become yourself. A warm, compassionate therapeutic relationship can help you in finding the direction you are seeking.

Therapy is a very sacred space in which you are trusting another individual with your story and in order to heal, you need to feel safe. I am here to provide you with that space, so that while you have to wear a mask in every other area of your life, while you are in this space, you can remove that mask and be your true authentic self, without judgment. My role is to support you and to assist during your healing process, providing you with what it is that you need. My therapy process is solely tailored to each and every unique individual that I am working with.

I can help you discover your true authentic self in order to gain confidence and live in harmony, while fulfilling your life's purpose.
Is fear blocking you from moving forward with your dreams and preventing you from reaching your full potential? Do you keep repeating the same patterns because of the shadows created by your past traumas? Does your life seem unmanageable and you do not know who to turn to?

I happily facilitate clients out of "lost-ness" and into the life, love, and job of their dreams.
You are grieving, heartbroken, or lost. You broke up with your partner, someone important died, you have it all and still feel unfulfilled. Grief is normal and exquisite and painful. You want to talk about it, but you don’t want to burden anyone. Here you have permission to be a burden. To be messy, seen, repetitive, and stuck. I’ll meet you there, but won’t leave you there. We work towards managing the unimaginable. Reckoning with the stories we tell and the paths lost, in order to reconcile with where we truly are. There you will find possibility. New stories, new love, new hope. There you will find the courage to start again.

I help professionals with ADHD who are struggling with managing day-to-day life learn to gain more stability and power over their lives and have a healthier view of themselves.
You try so hard to get things right, but no matter how hard you try, there always seems to be something you forgot or a mistake you've made. You’re often left feeling disappointed and dissatisfied at the end of the day because you feel you should have done more. A lot of your time and energy is spent on work, which leaves you feeling exhausted and drained. Even on the days you aren’t working, you still feel tired and unmotivated. You’ve been told by others that you’re just being lazy or you aren’t trying hard enough. So you’re constantly overexerting yourself and feeling burned out because you believe your best isn’t good enough.

I work with Adults struggling with Creative Growth and Adult Dilemmas that deal with Life Changes.
Words guide you. What are you telling yourself? With creativity, together, we can use myth and metaphor, poetry, dreams, literature, art and, most importantly, words to explore your relationships. Ursula K. Le Guin said, "Words are events, they do things, change things. They transform both speaker and hearer; they feed energy back and forth and amplify it." What fun to explore this together.

As a man of color and son of immigrants, I specialize in working with men of color who need support in life transitions and in recovering from traumatic experiences.
Talk therapy can only take us so far. If you feel stuck and want to try something different, somatic therapy may provide another level of depth and help you break through patterns you’ve been stuck in. I am a Filipino-American Somatic Psychotherapist, Certified Hakomi Therapist, and Certified Brainspotting Therapist. I use mindfulness to help clients understand their current experience and how it impacts their current struggles and conflicts.

My work focuses on helping individuals achieve a level of clarity and consciousness in their lives that can create a sense of joy, groundedness and growth. Growth can take many forms in one's life: improved relationships, improved sense of well-being, enhanced sense of self, reduction of painful/unwanted symptoms, career success, etc. My approach focuses on understanding and uncovering what stands in the way of one's growth. This process lays the groundwork for reaching a place of greater fulfillment. I seek to explore issues from the past/present to provide insight into what motivates present feelings and behaviors.

I offer support, tools, & strategies aimed at helping you feel less alone, less anxious, more empowered, & more hopeful about your life and the future.
Do others think your life looks “good” from the outside, yet it still feels like something’s missing on the inside? You’ve accomplished a lot in life, but don’t feel the sense of fulfillment you expected. A big life change—maybe a breakup, new job, new marriage, change in family dynamic, or a move—has highlighted the fact that you’re still not as happy as you want to be. Something is telling you that you need to make a change (even if you’re not quite sure what it is). You want to gain deeper insight into yourself & your past. You’re ready for change and to start creating new patterns in your life.

I have come to know myself as a lover of curiosity, an avid outdoors person, and someone who has an intense interest in better understanding the unique experiences of each person. My work in healing has spanned more than fifteen years and my practice in mental health has been improving for more than five years. I have developed a deep respect for relationships, individuals, and the practices that shape our lives. My experience has me coming to understand that only through asking questions and listening closely can we come to really understand our situation and be seen for who we really are.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
