My years of study and experience with many schools of thought from Marriage and Family therapy (MA) to deep Psychoanalytic work (PhD, PsyD) allow me to assess psychological issues and go where the patient needs to go.

As a therapist, I create a warm, safe, nonjudgmental environment for children, adolescents, adults, and couples to be able to open up and share their feelings and make sense of what is troubling them. I strive to empower people and help them realize the strength and potential they possess. My experience has prepared me well to be able to interact and connect with a wide variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds. A higher percentage of creative people struggle with addiction, because they just don't know when to quit! Creatives frequently have low self-esteem, often despite proven success. Using cognitive (CBT) techniques and psychodynamic methods (how events from the past affect the present) I use a pragmatic, individualized approach. I include solution-focused and music/art therapy to help the client gain insight and put the insight to work to achieve realistic goals.

The goal of therapy is to develop an awareness of our emotional patterns and recognize where they are not serving us. Many of us are operating within a problem saturated narrative that needs to be rewritten. It is my experience that the problems don’t occur in a bubble. I believe that issues are systemic, therefore I will often incorporate partners or members of the Family in the healing and growth process. I find my training in mediation practices further equip me to deal effectively with dysfunction family communication patterns.
