You don’t feel comfortable in your body. You’re self conscious when someone takes your photo. You feel insecure and pick yourself apart. The anxiety is making it difficult to have fun with your friends, to feel confident dating, to feel relaxed when you’re alone. You cycle between being “good” (under-eating/ being rigid and overly controlling with food) and being “bad” (overeating/ feeling you lost control around food). You vow to be “good” going forward, but it never lasts. The cycle is eating away at your self esteem. You double down on your efforts to control yourself, but you’re growing more obsessed and frustrated by the day.

Struggles in your relationship can be overwhelming and confusing where you're constantly arguing over small things and feel a growing distance as a couple. "How did things get to this point and how do I fix it?" I want you to know that I understand because I have been in your shoes. I know the pain and frustration that comes with feeling disconnected in a relationship

Difficult feelings can be the beginning of new self-understanding and growth. If you seek a greater sense of yourself and are ready to engage in a process that results in lasting transformation, then depth psychotherapy-an integration of mind, body and spirit-is the path for you. Depth work happens through a supportive environment where a therapeutic relationship forms and facilitates inner development towards your fuller potential.

All too often emotional suffering feels familiar, a sense of being stuck in the same frustrating patterns. Talking about your struggles may provide some temporary relief, but may not produce the long-term change wanted. My approach involves a combination of practical techniques to help you alleviate your symptoms and using integrated mind-body modalities that offer the possibility of healing outside of the traditional "talking cure." Working together at the pace that feels right for you, we will help you connect to your core self, provide healing for the hurt parts of you and open new possibilities for your future.

One of my specialties is mindfulness awareness for Men- that is, helping men who have historically struggled with a mind - body connection, find that connection for themselves. While I feel that everyone would benefit from this, I'm particularly passionate about helping men achieve this. There is a power in that connection. Through various techniques I teach you how to process and gain control over your thoughts and emotions - with the goal of processing trauma, reducing depression, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation. I have seen it work. I have seen the change in people and observed this physical phenomenon. There is hope for you

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
