I'm a trauma-informed therapist specializing in mood disorders, somatic challenges, and relational distress. Also, I work with those who identify as neurodivergent, with specialized training in ASD and High Sensitivity. Overwhelm is our current cultural standard of functioning. It's hard to slow down, but emotional, and perhaps, physical pain suggest something needs to shift. Work with me to process trauma, and treat the anxiety, depression, and relationships that have you in painful patterns. Honor your capacity to grow and change. Clarify how you want to engage life and others. Recognize your well-being as a worthy goal.

I specialize in working with adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, and OCD.
Courage is a powerful virtue. In fact, Maya Angelou claimed that courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage, you can’t practice any other virtue consistently. I am passionate about supporting those finding the courage to do the hard things, whilst also healing the inner child. Lifelong growth, healing one's relationship with food and self, and providing a safe and comfortable space to explore are things I strive for in my sessions. I am direct, yet warm, empathy driven, collaborative, and curious - I truly just want to see you thrive and prosper through the therapeutic experience!

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, life-transitions, relationship challenges, illness/loss, and trauma; and with couples experiencing communication, intimacy/trust, sexual and infidelity issues.
I believe deeply in the transformative potential and enduring nature of psychotherapy. When we're feeling stuck, confused or alone, therapy can help us to untangle our emotions, clarify our struggles, and better understand ourselves and others - ultimately forming inroads to real and lasting change. I am a compassionate and collaborative therapist: I establish a safe, non-judgmental space where our mutual exploration of your relationships, family history, career, sexuality, or whatever is troubling you currently - as well as aspects of our therapeutic relationship - will open pathways to new awareness and opportunities for welcome change, growth and healing.

Book with me now by clicking on my website. Most of my clients are young professionals or college and high school students who want to do in-depth, transformative therapy. I enjoy helping people who wish to heal from past trauma or loss, depression, anxiety, or substance abuse. I believe therapy serves as a way of liberating ourselves from problems and wounds of the past so that we can go out into the world to relate and live in newer, more meaningful, ways.

I specialize in treating eating disorders and issues that occur at the same time, such as anxiety and depression.
Making the decision to start therapy can come with apprehension. I believe your best judgement guided you to search for the right therapist. I have a direct and compassionate style of working with children, adolescents, college students, and adults. I assist clients in reducing anxiety and depression in order to feel confident, achieve a healthier sense of self, and live in accordance to their values. I believe honoring one's intuition is the key to healing- whether that be through play therapy, creative art interventions, or talk therapy. I enjoy helping others explore their identity and to accept various parts of themselves.

I have three decades of experience helping people with anxiety, depression and  life transitions.
I am trained in a range of therapies but do not use a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. I work with clients on challenges related to depression, anxiety, loss, adjustment to life changes, trauma, and family dynamics. Your voice and story are important. My goal is for you to not only feel like you have been listened to, but really heard.

Most people need help at various times in their lives navigating difficult experiences. My approach is collaborative, action-oriented and positive with individuals and couples. When relevant, I incorporate somatic (body) approaches, including EMDR and Brainspotting modalities to working with anxiety, phobias, trauma and other issues. My practice also includes the option of "walking and talking" outdoors. I am influenced by IFS / IFIO (parts work), self-compassion, feminist, and polyvagal approaches. I help clients connect more deeply with the past and address barriers to well-being in the present.

I firmly believe that the journey toward healing and personal growth begins with compassion, understanding, and acknowledgment. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where the uncharted aspects of yourself, often hidden in the shadows, can be explored and brought into the light for healing and reintegration. My therapeutic expertise is centered around supporting individuals who are grappling with eating disorders, anxiety, and the lasting effects of trauma. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore these challenges.

I have worked extensively with people who have endured traumatic and adverse life experiences, and those struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression and PTSD/stressor-related.
Every person has inherent creativity and a capacity to thrive. My role is to help connect you to your existing strengths and to help you try out new tools. When words are not enough, we can turn to more creative processes. Art therapy and EMDR are modalities that engage the body and mind, what we feel and think. Both modalities help us not only think differently, but also feel something new and healing.

Together, we’ll work to tame the anxiety and depression that cripple you and explore life events that have altered the way you experience the world.
You’re drowning. The waves of life are crashing down hard and they just keep coming. You thought things would be different by now. That you’d be happy, confident, and content with life, but instead you’re struggling. Struggling to find motivation to face the day, to have time and energy to put into your relationships and family, and feeling like nothing you do is ever good enough.

As you reconnect (or connect) with your abilities, strength, and wise self, anxiety and the unknown are not running your life.
It's hard to make sense of what's happening today in the world. It's also hard to make sense of what's happening with yourself. You feel so many things you can't even explain. As humans, we live in intersecting relationships: the earth, society, each other, work, spirituality (for some), individual and generational history. and our changing identities. Identifying and managing all of these relationships while moving in place is dizzyingly daunting. You want change, stability, a sense of purpose, and better connections. Even small moments of contentment would be a relief and a good start.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
